Year the project commenced: 2019
Year it became impossible: 2020
In 2019 Victoria Hunt was invited to be one of six artists who would, over two years, develop and present as part of the inaugural BAC Madrid Biennial. By 2020 she had already made one trip to Madrid where she connected with other artists and presenters and viewed spaces. Describing the process as curating the work into being, Hunt likens the creative structure to that of a web not just in the way that a spider spins a link from one point to the next but how lines link to each other with the spaces between each being as essential to the structure as the cords. And like the spider the artist must tend, repair and keep enhancing. No part can be put aside and left, the whole must be kept in concert as it finds an end point.

As part of The Impossible Project we have been inviting artists to conceive of, attempt and document an attempt at An Impossible Task or to undertake a conversation with Anna Tregloan where she will attempt (the similarly impossible task) of capturing aspects of their creative endeavours in sketch form.
Anna Tregloan and Victoria Hunt spoke at length about the history and the project; the connection made and the mountain ahead.  As they spoke Tregloan attempted to create a visual representation of this imagined but as yet unrealised project. It just scratches the surface of the complexity.
