In the months following the closure of all cultural venues and restricted activity due to Covid-19, Kelly wrote: - After all my plans collapsed and were cancelled adn postponed indefinately due to the pandemic, I decided I would take time to make some new collage artworks. The fear, the general anxiety of our species under seige, made it impossible for me to concentrate, or make decisions, or commit to any of the manifestly inadequate works I was cooking up. Most of the works are disassembled and their constituent elements are lying around on my work desk glaring balefully at me as I write. "
